Our Music Director

Our Music Director, John Neil Konwerski, is originally from Ansonia, CT. After attending Villanova University in Philadelphia, he received his B.S. in Education/English in 1975. At that time, John was a religious Brother in the Order of St. Augustine, who staffs Villanova University. After high school and junior high assignments as teacher and school administrator in both the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Archdiocese of New York, John was accepted to St. Joseph College, Renssaeler, Indiana, where he attained his M.A. in Liturgy and Music. He returned to St. Thomas of Villanova Parish, Villanova, PA, as parish Music and Liturgy Director, as well as liason for the University's Campus Ministry and Parish. John returned to CT in 1995 to care for aging parents. Besides working as Music and Liturgy Director at St. Gabriel Parish in Milford, CT, John also taught junior high school music, Religion and art at Assumption School in Fairfield, CT, junior high Religion and Language Arts and 5th grade at St. Jospeh School, New Britain, CT, and 5th grade at St. Anthony School before becoming our parish Music Director. John is truly happy and grateful to be a part of the St. Anthony Family, both parish and school.
